Good evening.
They are back into the wet nest.
Hello Luana!
Yes, they will walk on the meadow with their parents searching for food like bugs, larva, insects, mice, mole earth worm.
They are learning now from their parents how to hunt and where to hunt for food.
From day to day they are more and more on their own.
Here is a video I took of my stork family, 2 adults and two youngs how they are looking for food on a meadow all together.

Have a great weekend.

Thank you Cheral.
I think, the time is nearly over.
Maybe we will see the adults here and than.
But I think the youngsters will leave real soon.
Here the juvies are already coming together in groups.
Hello!
Lunch break
Left at 4 pm.
Bye-bye
the second evening with only one youngster in the nest.
Edit:
2 storks in the nest.
Enjoy your day.

A lot of clattering this afternoon. Finally a juvie came to the nest, begged for food and got a little bite.
Cico and Luna flew of and a bit later also the juvie.

Now the nest is empty again.
Edit:
One stork stays overnight.

Hello, news from the Stork Center:
As we all can observe the days of our young storks are counted in the Internet's nest.
Only Luna, Cico and a young stork stayed in the nest over night. On the meadows in the Spree Forest, the young storks find the time to squads of up to twenty animals. In our view, the young storks will soon leave and move south.
Greetings from the Spreewald

Doris,
Thank you so much for posting updates and photos/videos each day so I can catch up on the happenings with our stork family. This stork season seems to have gone very fast but that is because I haven't had a chance to check in every day as I have in the past.
Soon there will just be an empty nest and they will all be on their big journey.

Long Trek about to begin....are we ready?
Another successful season in Vetchau....High Five everyone! We know they could have done fine without us watching and fussing, but who could miss all those wonderful moments, when eggs increase, little beaks pop out, and even the scary ones, when babies don't make it. This is live nature, after all....we want to see it ALL!
Special thanks to Doris and Regenstern and the others for keeping us posted during your day and our sleep. It helps a LOT, please continue to post and cam for us....we do appreciate your efforts.
Stay well all, until next breeding season. God willing, we will meet here again. Best regards, Barb
