The chicks are growing very quickly...there must be plenty of food for them.
Nice video bibbi44...the parents do such a good job of protecting their babies.
I tried to open the other stork eyrie website, but I just get a blank square. Perhaps it is only available in Germany

Greetings, fellow storkies. Our kids are growing so fast it is getting hard to tell them from mama and papa. So glad there haven't been too many scary moments. Soon we will see them flapping on the nest edge. Seems just a few days ago we were watching as they hatched. This is my favorite bird site, of course. This morning, I watched at the window as a crow snatched a baby robin from its nest. Mother chirped in sadness for about 2 hours. Life can be harsh for our wonderful bird families. Have a good week and keep up those videos....we LOVE them! xxoo Barb

The crows do the same here, picking young birds out of the nest.
But we must accept this.

Naming of Vetschau Storks

This year's naming of our young storks will take place on Wednesday, June 29 at about 10:00 a.m. at the White stork Information Centre of Lower Lusatia. The "Witja-Group" of the daycare centre "Sommerkäfer/Summer Bugs" of Vetschau/Spree Forest will be present and will draw names from the suggested names already received. NABU regional Association Calau will supply attractive prizes to the winners.
