Maybe, i thought about it, too.
Early in the morning the chicks have their beak (?)
mouth open, it can`t be so warm in Vetschau in the
morning?

edit: hi regenstern, i watch the video from short past 7 and
i did not see a move, but i can be wrong.
Now a adult stork puts the little one out, i think. He moved it a little bit.

The open beak breathing looks so much like the fungus Aspergillus. Very sad to have lost two babies.

Hi Paul,
or but... it was simply too little food?
Would not surprise me if it really was not enough food...
I don't know...?
I hope this is not fungus!!!

Good morning.
Thank you for your pictures and reports even if there are bad news.
I also think, the chick is dead and hope it was not the fungus.
Yesterday the 3 big siblings looked good. There was no sign of any illness.
I hope, all goes well for the 2 remaining chicks.

Edit:

Storkcenter writes they have found the dead body of the little stork under the nest, saw also the dead chick in the nest. They have so far no idea about the cause of death.

Translation with Google Translator

I just learned from Vetschau, which was found to start service in the center of a dead stork stork chicks in the nest.
Another probably dead chick is still in the nest.
One of the reasons we can only speculate at present.

Let's hope our 2 remaining on the chicks can be raised.
