Hello Cheral.
Now he starts bringing in more soft material.
This is the second beak with hay he brought in this morning.

The next stick

And the next load

And the next one

One hour later she came back with nesting material.

20 minutes later, he is back with foliage

Amazing how the nest in the middle is growing

The next load, only some minutes later. He must collected it near by.

1.30 pm, nest exchange, she came back with nesting material

Working on the second egg

The Vetschau Internet Storks have laid the first Egg
Our stork couple, known world-wide as the Internet storks "Cico" and "Luna" appear to be pleased with each other. Since they found each other, many copulations took place and both work eagerly on the nest.
During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, our female laid the first egg. As a rule, storks lay an egg every other day until the clutch is completed to a maximum of six eggs. After a breeding period of 32 days, we can presumably and hopefully count on healthy chicks. The storks begin to breed only after the laying of several eggs. Should they begin to breed right after the first egg, the young ones will hatch in the laying sequence.
On a daily basis now, more storks arrive in the Spree Forest and occupy the numerous eyries. They are longingly awaited by the people. The arrival of the last storks can extend to the first ten days of May.
Our White Stork Information Centre in Vetschau is open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday and holidays between 10:00 a.m. And 5:00 p.m.
